Crispy Masala Chickpeas


  • 2 Cans Chickpeas (15 oz.), drained and rinsed
  • 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • ¾ Tsp. Sea Salt
  • 1 Tbsp. Garam Masala
  • ½ – 1 tsp. Cayenne Pepper


  1. Heat the oven to 400 degrees and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Dry the surfaces of the chickpeas completely with a clean kitchen towel. Pour them into a large mixing bowl and toss with olive oil and sea salt.
  3. Separately, whisk together the cayenne pepper and garam masala. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the salted chickpeas and gently toss to coat.
  4. Spread the spiced chickpeas onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes until just crisp, turning with a spatula half-way through.
  5. Pour into individual snacking bowls and serve alongside a warm bowl of Boulder Organic Red Lentil Dahl Soup, or use as a garnish.
